Oh, when I wake up and strap up my boots, I load up my Chevy, now I'm drivin' with my tools

To work for the taxman 'fore he takes away my pay

I work for the taxman while he's countin' all my change

Is it really so much to ask, just for a little somethin' back

Don't matter how I vote, no, he's still spendin' all my cash

I've known many a hard worker in my day, and I know he's got bills he's still strugglin' to pay
