Under the old oak tree, where the dust settles down

There's a buddy I know, in this small country town

Sam's got a heart as big as the open plains

Riding life's rollercoaster, through the sunshine and rain

Every Friday night, with a fiddle and a grin

We'd gather 'round the barn, let the music begin

Sam's laugh echoes through the farmstead light

With a bottle of Tennessee whiskey, we'd sing all night
