Once there was a boy, the same age as you

Obsessed with poetry, like you, too

He wrote his youth, unwilling to set the pen down

He knew you had so much to say, to share with the world around

Words were his emotions' voice, his soul's home

He wanted to show you how he wrote with feelings so strong

Reading was the fertile ground, observation the gentle rain

Imitation the golden seed, practice the drops of strain

Thinking was the deep-rooted base, logic the sturdy stem

Expression was the bud in bloom, rhetoric the colorful gem
