Where did the butterflies go, the ones I used to feel

They'd twist and turn, so reckless, so surreal

The first time tension, the breath that caught my chest

Not knowing what to do, but hoping for the best

Now the air feels still, the magic's faded gray

But I still close my eyes and drift to yesterday

Where did the butterflies fly, did they leave with the past

The moments of wonder I thought would always last

I lost my innocence to someone untrue

Yet I still look back and think fondly of you
