We met you at the winter gardens 78 or 9

Can't remember who was playing , can't recall the time

Just spotty kids with aspirations, dreams of what might be

You looked so cool with spiked black hair, pink trousers PVC

We had drums, guitars and amps though cheap they were ok

You turned up with a microphone and a 50 watt PA

We practiced at the scout hut on a Sunday afternoon

We tried to hit the right notes while you tried to sing in tune

We practiced hard eventually we started sounding right

The gigs sold out and we got signed the future looked so bright
