Broken Wings

We were walking with you through your pain.

Soldiers fighting with nothing to gain.

We were children fighting in your war.

Far too young to leave the safe safe shore.

We flew with Broken wings, we fell at every turn, and then we had to learn

To fly with broken wings, we may not soar so high, but we will damn well try

Picking up the pieces takes its toll.

Scattered through the years they don't fare well.

Waiting for someone to save the day.
