Every day spent looking past that window frame where we once lived

How naive I was to think nothing of this image that would forever reside in my head

I took for granted those many moments of companionship I still yearn for

Passion for someone else eating away at my soul made the impact of those moments at the time seem lessened

Distance and avoidance of that house in which we were once caged

Hasn't made it easier to drive by knowing you won't see me on the other side of that window frame

Still to this day I dream of your silhouette

In that window frame

Only to extend my hand, wake up and realize

It was that same nightmare once again

Still every night I wonder why
