Monarch Butterfly

Morning drinks coffee with a bitter taste in my mouth

Just watchin' the clouds go past me as the birds scream and shout

Bees collectin' their pollen off the linden tree that blooms

They've lost the softness in your smile that reminds me of you

Sometimes I get weak in the knees when I hear you call my name

Like the wind in the trees and the echoes in the rain

But there's a monarch butterfly that lands right beside me

And I feel your beautiful presence shinin' through from the other side

So spread your wings and fly, my sweet monarch butterfly

And fly so high till the day that you die
