I've been sittin' in the back of my truck Thinkin' about all them times that I've pushed my luck

Hard-headed as hell, that's now a story to tell to a boy from a man that's all grown up

I shoulda listened to him way back then To my dad that was just tryna raise a man

Now he's gone and when I've had enough I start prayin' to myself in hopes he hears from up above

He was right for sure, I shoulda listened more when he said that time flies in a flash

Memories you make, the bad times and mistakes, just learn from them never look back

Now it's my turn to raise a man out of my son

Sitting here teach him how to bait a hook And that it might take a while, be patient for the bite

And balance is the key, won't get it on the first time practice makes perfect when you learn to ride a bike
