Loneliness

I walk these empty streets shadows dance on the walls

Echoes of laughter but silence is all that calls

My heart's a vacant room filled with dust hollowed space

Staring at the night sky wishing for a warm embrace

Fading in the darkness no light to find my way

Loneliness wraps around me like a tattered old sheet

Whispers of your ghost a bitter taste of defeat

Everything feels heavy in this world turned off and grey

Setting fire to my soul watching the embers fade away
