This Isn't Done

As a retreating tide will ever return

There's a lesson in the back and forth one day I will learn

Until then I'm not concerned. Here I could never stay

So different in the same way, I see how your candle wanes

There's never been a conflict I approached indirectly

Was that my folly? End to my calling, banishment from beyond the sprawling

Shivering ever hungry jewel I will never return to crawling

No sense of enthralling, beyond that of being walled in
