When I think about forgiveness

I think about accepting the fact that you were hurt, or mistreated, or whatever

And accepting that who or whatever caused that hurt or mistreatment

Is no more a problem that you choose to dwell on

Forgiveness I think is letting go

It's not always about surrendering your power and forgiving someone for something

It's more like a self-acknowledgement that you're no longer letting the situation affect you

And you're dropping that baggage off

Forgiveness also isn't something that should be expected

Or that I feel anyone should feel entitled to

This is all done on our terms

And whether we feel it's completely deserved justified or whatever
