Us v. World

So much for the earth, it's you and me on our home turf

Us against the world we twirl, tending our little herd

Backed into a corner we get tough, at least we have the gloves

Floating back and forth from move to move, I guess that's love

Slowly, you're becoming a new version of what I wanted

Slowly, I'm becoming a new person, it's what I wanted

Save me from the middle ages, where words are left unspoken

Reading on the couch for now, that's our only hope then

There's supposed to be another rung above the one we're on, but that's just a myth
