The Riverbank

I've been seized by the icy grip of the stream surrounding me


The danger all too welcoming, and comforting the same

Body thrown, broken bones, 
as the force of the river flows


The looming plummet of the falls is now approaching me. 


Arm snagged on the rocks of the riverbank

Clinging on with calloused grip, for fear of drop and depth unknown


Now a blur, A prisoner, 
of a world undesirable


The need to break free has been faltered by a comforting urge 



To lay beside,

all that internally divides
