Maybe when we can't sleep, our spirit seizes the night, Rising over darkness, embracing the light

Our spirit resists rest, longing to wake, It whispers, "You slept through your day, now night you must take"

Arise, sleepers, from your sleep, Slumberers, from your deep The spirit stirs, the night it keeps, Awake in the dreams we reap

Perhaps there's wisdom in the spirit's flight, Perhaps Perhaps not But perhaps it's right

If you wish to sleep at night, awaken in your day, If sleep evades, your spirit's in the fray Ripping off the band-aid, quicker the night, 24 hours, dancing in the godhead's sight

Sixteen hours in illusion, delusion's embrace, Cravings, aversions, desires we chase Realm of hungry ghosts, we wander and we roam, And after sixteen hours, we think of sleep as home

Perhaps there's wisdom in the spirit's plight, Perhaps Perhaps not But perhaps tonight

Moments of sleep, from exhaustion's grace, The animal body, the primate's race The sapien's mind needs to power down, But the spirit's awake, in darkness found
