Golgotha

On the road to Golgotha, he wore the heavy cross

Simon from Cyrene, a stranger, helped him with the loss

Bruised and battered, torn and scarred, a crown of thorns upon his head

He walked the path to Calvary, to face what lay ahead

He died for me, he died for you

Through the pain and suffering, he made us new

With every nail and every tear, he washed away all our fear

In his sacrifice, love so profound, a grace so deep it knows no bound

Upon that hill called Golgotha, they nailed him to the wood

Hands and feet pierced through with nails, for the world's eternal good
