It's getting hard to see you, on this autumn afternoon

But there's still a ray of sunshine, and music fills my room

Mist begins to form now as the year is growing old

Strike a match, light the kindling, an alchemist making gold

Clocks keep moving forward, but I'm content to stay at home

Flames don't burn for long, there's no heat, they're just for show

Hear the magic in the instruments, vibrations play through time

While faded words on pages, draw reason from the rhyme
