Pretty Things

A raging waterfall, a rainbow I saw, a sunset every once in a while

Pictures that I'd send, places that I'd been, anything I thought would make her smile

But what she's seeing there, I know can't compare to anything she'd ever seen anywhere

She's seen beauty untold, the Bible unfold, and gazed into the eyes of our Lord

There's no need to send her pictures of pretty things anymore

The first snow in our new yard, picking berries at the farm, and that baby boy that looks so much like me

It's hard to say goodbye to that part of my life, there's so much more I wanted her to see

But what she's seeing there, I know can't compare to anything she'd ever seen anywhere
