six miles up

I think I have been living with my head in the clouds for a little too long

Waiting for a phone box or a letter down my chimney or the whole world to break out in song

The airs a little thin so I guess I will begin my slow decent back down to earth

I hope I haven't missed much I hope my friends remained in touch I hope I didn't lose any worth

But the ground is looking gray I guess colors always fade I guess the world looks better from above

Six miles up means six miles down

I hope that I'll make it before I'm six feet underground

My feet aren't steady on the ground my ears won't pop to hear the sound am I sea lagged or jet legged I don't know

The world seems to be spinning fast and now all this time has passed I'm a dormouse in a rat race I'm too slow

Father Time has chiseled the familiar out of faces the fools that I once laughed with have matured
