Dogs don't ponder the deep things

They don't worry what their days may hold

They don't sweat the vet or the headlines, or fret about heaven or growin' old

They're content sleeping under the front porch, or out in the grass under the sun

They've got it all if they've got a ball, or some woods where they can run

They're man's best friend to the very end

A yawn and a stretch, and they're ready to fetch, and that's man's best friend

Dogs don't care about papers

They're not concerned about a pedigree

They're not bragging when their tongue's a-dragging, and that's all that really matters to me
