My Day In The Park

I was sitting in a park on a Saturday, realized I had spent half the day

Reminiscing of songs by Donny Hathaway

And I have to say, I wasn't bothered at all

Sense of empowerment had me feeling like I was 10ft tall

And then guess what y'all, I noticed a slowly rolling ball

And heard a mother apologize as my eyes drifted deep into the skies only to realize.

Said my son wasn't paying attention, I said please allow me to mention, he's completely fine and not in need of any redemption

I was just recalling my own childhood, roaming around on these same grounds

And funny to see that ball bounce right back around

I find it profound, honestly I feel a sense of gratitude

So please no need to apologize from your little dude, he wasn't at all rude

She said I'm just sayin, I said I'm just saying. He's in the park and he's just playin.
