If I live to see two decades from now I'll be grey and old

But that still feels closer somehow than 20 years ago

I've seen enough sunsets and I've seen enough blood to know

That when he comes a calling I may just be ready to go

I've no interest in shame for things that never hurt others

I'm no stranger to pain I saw it in my mother

I'm no longer held captive by the way that things were supposed to be

I'm flawed and I am dirty but most importantly I am free

I feel the ache creep into my bones they grow heavier each day

Along with flashes in my head of the folks that I wish could've stayed
