Sacred Ground

I would spend my summers down by the river with my friends

Laughin' and playin' in the water until the daylight ends

I remember the smell of the willows and lying' on the rocks

A few cowboys, some Indians, some stoners and some jocks

We never had any trouble, we all got along

Those were great summers and I'm sad that they are gone

Sometimes late at night, I still hear all the sounds

Oh what a great place to be, those are sacred grounds

God, I miss those mountains and I miss the valleys below

I think about all the people there that I used to know
