This morning I woke up with my boots on don't remember much but I know I made it home

Sunday service was over by the time I rolled out of bed so I prayed alone

I asked for a little mercy and a lot of grace cause along the way

I've rode ocean waves into desert sands in crowds where I was the last to stand

And sure I've done the best I can fought the devil out on barren land

Some days it's hard to find the light and change my ways from wrong to right

If I could open my eyes maybe I'd see the better man inside of me

I sat on the front porch and watched the world pass me by

I thought that mama and the good lord love me well it's a wonder why

Cause lately my faith's been shaken but I'm trying to make it right
