There's a soft and warm vibration on some bronze and nylon strings

There's a bus down North Grand Avenue, walk to the corner of Black and 13th

Kids smoking cigarettes and flicking ash out in the street

Beautiful and important, I'm pretty sure we all agree

That there won't be a tomorrow, and there probably shouldn't be

And we won't wake up any older if we just never go to sleep

Sometimes it's not about the promises you keep

Sometimes it's more about the ones we all break together

I can hear my youth ringing in my ear during pauses in the music

It wasn't heavy metal bands that made my hearing go, no, it was sad punks with plugged-in acoustics
