Her Kiss

This world is cruel, but my mind is crueler

The length of my shame is longer than any ruler

So when my thoughts treat me unkind,

Instead of reaching for a friend, I reach for the bottle to unwind

And when her kiss hits my lips, she goes down smooth, as a woman's hips

And I curse the clouds, and I ask God why, I can refill the bottle with the tears I cry

It's been so long since I felt this alone

Spent many of nights in this empty home
