Silence

The silence was deafening as I walked across your room

With steady steps, I crossed the rest of the distance to your door

I must confess I was afraid of what the day would hold

If you found me by your side when you finally awoke

They say it takes two to love, but only one to walk away

The elevator's buttons pressed themselves so as to not prolong my stay

And the tiles of your hallway promptly spurred me to the exit

There's someone that will show you love I'll be the one that fakes it

Now I'm treading through a town that isn't yet awake

I'd wait to watch the sun rise but I have a bus to make
