Singing while hoarse won't do your voice any favors

But you might as well learn how; you'll have to do it sooner or later

Keep impossible standards; be difficult to find, but

Be prolific; tell them everything on your mind

Trust your instincts, but overcome your doubts

Never forget who you are, and if you don't know yet, find out

Put pen to paper, don't even think about stopping until the pen has run completely dry of ink

Be succinct

When you don't feel like writing, that's when you work all night

Write what you know, make something up; just write, write, write
