It was a hot summer night the gig was at a racetrack

We located the stage and pulled the van around the back

But something was going on you could feel it in the air a thunderstorm

And if lightning strikes like dynamite it's not alright there's no show tonight

The promoter said guys we've got to get on with the show

I've got a truckload of beer that's gotta get sold or I go broke

So we looked at each other in the eye knowing we'd make this gig fly

and a 1-2-3 I’ll meet you at the end

The rain came and blew out the PA

But somehow the monitors in front of us were OK
