Thread of Life

At first it's darkness in the shade of the branches of the tree of life

And in the deepest silence the face of the dawn shyly reveals itself

From the dull sky the pale rays of the sun filter through the velvet leaves

Turning into so many graceful silver fibres moving in the air

In an embrace of mist the growing daylight glistens in the morning dew

A timeless ritual that has always given life to every Man and God

An old woman with her soiled wrinkled hands that take care of the tree

Gathers the fibres in the air entwining them into a silver thread

Lightly black raven feathers float in the cool, light morning air

Awakening the thread of life
