Prodigal

I cashed in my innocence, collected my inheritance

Shook the dust off of my feet and journeyed off alone

I wagered it in arrogance, wasted it on decadence

My foolishness was plain to see but to myself unknown

When on my folly rose the sun, I realized what I had done

Awakened to myself at last, my heart was gripped by fear

Back to my father I did run. Would he still recognize his son

Then at the gate I saw him stand and beckon me draw near

I was lost, but God found me. I was blind, but God made me see

How much I've done wrong and how much more he loves me
