Orion

The sky is angry, she thought to herself

Watching the lightning strike the earth

Big thoughts for a child, underneath a patchwork quilt

Tucked in the attic on her perch

She had wondered if the grass knew that one day the snow would melt

And she wondered if Orion could hold the sky without his belt

Stories of gods and mortals end in tragedy

Tales of titans with ambitions too vast, coming to terms with mortality

They're all cautionary tellings for the dreamers who lie awake

But what they fail to realize is with every fall from grace
