Pretty Shannon

The day that I laid eyes on her, is one I will remember

The fog was rollin in from yonder harbour

I wreaked of liquor from the night before, just me and lads we cleared the floor

And ne'ry an hour had gone before the last of us walked out the door

The moon and stars had all but gone

Except for just finest one, behold my pretty Shannon

The harbour wind was brisk that day, and carefully I approached her

Stayin down wind so as not to alarm her

Whether out of pity or just by luck, a gleaming eye and a smile she snuck

And ne'ry an hour had gone before Shannon and I walked in the door

Of an old cafe with a rustic wooden floor
