There was a time not so long ago her looks could turn heads everywhere she'd go

In her dreams there wasn't much she couldn't be some high flyer or a beauty queen

Then one drunken night she started trying something new her friend was supplying

And as that gold rolled around her vein her career path was changed

Now she loves cowboy Joe but there's no attraction this is just a business transaction

If he has the money she can make his dreams come true

Most of the time she stares at the ceiling but for a little extra she can fake the feeling

In a rented room up above Jake's saloon

Sometimes at night in a rare lucid moment she dreams of the house and the husband she once wanted

Then it all fades away there's another at the door guess there's no choices anymore
