I had hemlock for breakfast

Or so it feels

Many a morning, I'm mourning the tyranny of inner me

Each thought a thread in a tapestry of self-blasphemy

Or the normal kind for that matter

See, my legacy: inadequate

I'm a cavity, cancerous

A factory fashioned to miscarry every good thing

"It's all my fault"

A crackpot hitting every pothole and pitfall

On this blacktop that I call my scattered brain
