Snow Angels

They're shoveling snow outside my apartment and it sounds like a dog breathing down my neck

I half awake at dawn to the alarm I haven't even opened both eyes yet

Last night I drained a bottle woke up fully clothed lying across my bed

But I gotta go to work so I will get up take a shower clear my head

(Somebody has to pay the rent)

As snowdrifts form around me I remember Hampshire county

All the iced up roads of Hadley nights I thought I would forget

When I was younger my weeks were more unencumbered

Now I think back to that winter when we met
