Flies

These flies

Are swirling in the centre of my eyes

And my room for more days than they're supposed to be alive

Like the drain, I washed my sandy feet off in that summer night

It goes round and round and round that pipe, just waiting for the light

As we fight

Sleep, the seagulls mock us from outside

We both know if we let go, that this memory still might

Slip into the drain. Just hold me closer baby one last time
