The Islandman

Standing on the shoreline looking out to sea

Fishing boats they're coming home and tie up on the quay

Another day is dying in the sky off to the west

The world and all its cares, they're laid to rest, 'till tomorrow

Out across the rolling deep the moon climbs to the stars

Laughter drifts across the bay from the crowded streets and bars

Dreams they fade and disappear like names drawn in the sand

On the outside looking in, I am the island man

The history of ages it's flowing in my veins

The landlord's cruel tyranny, the memory remains

Centuries of struggle, echoes from the past
