Jacaranda

These new jacarandas were my only plan for the day

The pollen is snowing and the pavement's a purple bouquet

And it's cold for this time of year

I'll wait for my breath to reappear

And listen to see if your heart still remembers my name

The nuisance of neon is keeping the night sky at bay

And I probably shouldn't be on the Sunrise Highway

But as soon as the city lights fade

I remember a plans that I made

There's no turning back once you've given your word to the day
