Spilt Milk

Disorientated again, sick to my stomach

Once again a screw up, egg shells for feet, fragile walk

and what was once a hug is starting to feel more like a choke hold

promised not to pick at it but this scar never gets old

sugar coated words but teeth so sharp they cut through bone

and they turn on each other casualties, blood, bodies grow

and though my shovels blunt with all the love I have I’ll dig this hole

It’s never deep enough, our regret alone will overflow

Maybe I’m the reason, Maybe you’re the reason

This baggage never goes, we hold hold too tight
