It's opening day, the bleachers are packed, with the sounds of America's game

My worn out glove and baseball cap are my companions for the day

As the people cheer, all I can hear is your voice as it cuts through the strain

The home team is much smaller this year, smiling through the pain

Baseball makes me sad, it always makes me miss my dad

Turn the lights aways, I hide inside my room and pray

One year gone so fast, I can't believe my dad has passed
