The Evocation

Skies lie above but a star’s below

At the bottom of the Earth

Blinded and bowing underneath the glow

Of constellations speaking tongues that I’ve not heard

In the dimmest reaches of the night sky

I feel the eyes of those who observe

Life and death, joined and then confined

In a circle of lessons that will all stay unlearned

And the instincts ages were spent burying

As we all evolved

Were awakened in the place of everything

In lifetimes that I once recalled
