I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this country

Of this rich soil on which we live and grow

Of these life-giving waters by which we sit and walk and play

In which we swim

Of which we drink

Of endless skies where sea-eagles soar and songbirds share their joy

I acknowledge the Awabakal people

On whose land I raise my daughter

And pay my respects to all those who have come before us

To preserve this beautiful place

And extend that respect to those who continue to do so

And who will do so in the future
