Lyrics
I open my ears to the scent of the sunlight
And stone that is painted with rain
The insects will gather a meager subsistence
As moss gathers up in the drains
Trying to write is a bittersweet pastime
My ink falls to spill on the floor
And patterns stain carpets with billions of stories
The likes of which not heard before
But it's funny
To think that it's all in my head
When it's sunny
I dream of the rainclouds instead
But cleaning is dull and the light just gets brighter
As slowly the clouds would subside
The spiders rejoice in the heat of the sun as
Their gossamer webs start to dry
I find myself thinking just what would it be like
To be a respectable man
I'd work from the dawn to the dusk and make money
And ask a young girl for her hand
But it's funny
To think that it's all in my head
When it's sunny
I dream of the rainclouds instead
Daydreams are fun but the night dreams are longer
And quite frankly fairly bizarre
To dance on the top of the Arc de Triomph
While singing and playing guitar
I pick up my pen and I start to remember
A story I'd thought of today
But fickle are muses and I can't keep up
As my innermost thoughts fade away
But it's funny
To think that it's all in my head
When it's sunny
I dream of the rainclouds instead
It's so lovely
A rainbow that cuts through the blue
I would chase it
But only if it led to you
