A girl walks through the forest

Walking alone through the night

She stumbles over branches and roots

She is blind

She is crying, she is calling out a name

As her tears flow she calls her lovers name

Then the clouds part unveiling Mrs Moon

She feels the warmth on her face

Mrs Moon looks down on a quiet earth

Only disturbed by the girl´s cries

Oh mother Moon it was the old oak tree

The branches cuts his face, the thorns tears his legs

And tears begins to drip into his blood

And Mother Moon opens up her light

Then he hears her cries and he screams her name

With the last of his strength he kneels besides her

As she lay there

He takes her hand

As she fades

He pulls her to his chest

As she dies

Now she is a silvery ghost, a fairy dancing in the moonlight

Now he is a shadow, death walking in moonlight

And the forest hears his dreadful oath

The oak runs through the moonlight

And Mother Moon weeps for her daughter and son
