Lyrics
When I awoke from a deep blue dream
The colors of the world were pale white
Remnants of leaves scurried along the ground
Wind chimes sounded the tranquil alarm
Arise and face the dawn of a new day
Challenge the frozen ideas in my way
Watch for the clouds that pillow the sky
Lay down on a feathered bed breath of a sigh
Vigilance is steadfastly opening the door
Wondering of what the morn has in store
Be it the light or be it the dark
Be it shine luminous or be it appear stark
Awaiting the change from Autumn to Winter
Upwards to the azure as the sun splinters
Some birds have flown and some birds still remain
Evergreens stand out like a fool in the rain
The daylight grows shorter with every new dawn
The trees are now dormant preserving their song
Cool winds are blowing from the north they arrive
A gaggle of geese amble side by side
Soon I will wait for a lull in the diurnal course
Daydreaming of springtime and planting primrose
For now I will light a fire where flames flicker
I'll hold the fort down with my feet by the embers
