I came out of the warmth and I forgot my coat

I wandered through the dark and I knew that I had left the road

Then I saw a light distant in the night, was drawn to it

I started running and I blinked and then I tripped

I did not know what exactly was happening

Just felt that some power emerged and started pulling

Something to complete me that I had to strive for

In between the trees I found a bonfire burning

Sat down on a branch and felt an aching yearning

I stared into the flames and started contemplating

About the reason why I came and why I was hesitating

You burned, you heated, you smiled, you held a key

I discovered something that was missing in me

At the same time I knew that I would not stay

I realized that I would walk away

I listened to the voice of your cracking woods

To the stories that you told me though I didn't ask

It felt so good when you warmed me and lulled me

But I never forgot that this was not the place for me to be

So I wandered back to the house and went to bed

But in my dreams you found me and I welcomed you back

From this point I visited your fire every night

Stayed as long as I could, till the night turned into daylight
