From chalice sleep, I take oneiric sips

And look up to the ceiling finding sky

And then I feel a river running near

But I can't see it with my glasses on

So I proceed to take them off my face

And then I trek through land of morn's defeat

Taking a trip to Lemnos

So I can drink with Hypnos

And have a couple shadows dance in darkness

While I compose

Hearing the truth embedded in mythos

And making the free throws

In basket of my hopes and aspirations

Sooner drown then find river elation

Scene of Pandemonium

Rococo degradation

But I will freeze within the desert seeking revelation

So that the poems you read from me are soul's reverberation

Night, was evinced

To my two inner eyes

And it sought me as a prince

Sight, not convinced

But I know it's no surprise

That our eyes act as a fence

One told me that the truth I write above

Here sounds obscene

And, I should tone it down

Lest I do cause a rowdy scene

But, I don't serve the shadows by that river

Merely serve them words so I can make their figures shiver

Bloody but I do deliver

Then I met another soul by the water and he said

"I can tell you don't belong here, you should really be in bed

Since you are, I'll look in your head"

And, grabbing both my ears, these verbatim words he fed

"Imma look into your sleep to see the dreams that Sandman leaves

Cutting deep into your forest seeing blood upon its leaves

Looking so deep into psyche

Finding the loving and angry

Parts of your personality

Looking over your mentality"

"Stop, I don't want to listen to this

I've indulged you long enough

It's time to cease and desist

I really insist"

Then I saw him retreat, until amongst the dancing silhouettes

Pirouettes amidst the mist

Met a Siren by the bankside

And she beckoned me alongside

But I did not go

You either wade within Mnemosyne

Or drown within the river Lethe

Either road you're rowed

On I did go

Closer to paunch of the beast

Closer to heart of the feast

Lava did flow

I did not fear in the least

Still understood what could soon be soon unleashed

Got to take a look

Into darkened brook

After bloody donnybrook

With a hundred shadows haunting dark did cook

After traveling a while

I stumbled upon a cave, appearing to be somebody's domicile

So I walked in, to see if it belonged to whom I'm searching for

And I found him, what happened next is truly fit for lore

"See you haven't popped a poppy

You can call me Papi

Or Daddy Sleepy

Now that I'm awake

I'm going to share with you a couple things

Reason why people shy away from the truth is that it stings

Life's a library

Gory stories on the shelf

Climb the bookcase at the risk of your health

So much to peruse if you're willing to bruise

Flip through the pages so to find your wealth

Have to prance among the roses even if allergic to flowers

Gotta go dancing in the rain, even if you drown in its showers"
