2010 I picked up the pen

And started jotting down some lyrics

I’d go around the hallway

Rapping to anyone who’d hear it

All my rap was about inspiration

Even though throughout my life

I dealt with the bully nation

I wanted to give hope

But during high school years

Man hope was a joke

I had them negative thoughts about self harm

2013, I hurt my arm, on purpose

When I calmed down I realized it wasn’t worth it

But it wasn’t the last time

Tryna plunge the tears down

But they still overflowed

The next 6 months

I wanted to be circled by the crows

2014 I was ripped but not running

I say ripped but not running

Because when I cut i just couldn’t

Cut deep enough

And when I went to church

The word just didn’t reach deep enough

Cuz my soil was rocky

And the birds picked it up

Before it had a chance to reach my heart

And get my light turnt up

But I was invited, then

I was invited again

It didn’t stop anything in the moment

But after some time the progress begins

Then I made a choice

And I heard his voice

And that was the end of the noise

6 years later

Ups and down

My faith goes round and round

Knees on the ground

Like I’m dizzy

There’s no need to doubt my God

And wonder where is he

I know he is not in the tomb

because he is risen

No he’s not dead

Yes he is living

And that’s blessing

Cuz Now I’m not dead

Cuz He sent his spirit

To live in my heart

Teaching a lesson
