Tried to write a song about traveling to the West Coast

But I've only ever been there a few times

No I've never seen the Redwoods

Never been to Palm Springs

But I hear that it's all pretty nice

The only port I know well

Is a Minnesota harbor

And for me it still takes my breath away

When I watch the freighters on Superior

I'd say I see the forest through the trees

And how the land has imparted on me

All this ancient wisdom

But you can't fully know what you ain't never seen

With everything I needed on my back
